Celebrate the history of our city and help us remain a place

Where History Hangs its Hat

2017 will mark the seventy-fifth anniversary since community efforts to save an historic structure, located at 43 Main Street, culminated in the dedication of the Danbury Historical Museum & Arts Center

on April 6, 1942.

"This homestead can ever be a reminder of the quality of our fathers lives. This building, was built to remind us that 'what is excellent is permanent.' This building was built, not for the opportune moment but for the years. You can see, this homestead was built for generation after generation."
~ Aaron C. Coburn, headmaster The Wooster School
